Things to see and do

Walking

The cottage is a short walk to a secluded beach.  It is also a good base for exploring the world class beaches around Lewis and Harris.

In the Back area of Lewis where the cottage is located, Coll Beach, Gress Beach, Garry Beach and Traigh Mhor are all highly recommended.

The Castle Grounds in the nearby town of Stornoway offer a variety of paths in the woodlands surrounding the Castle which also is home to a museum and a cafe.

There are also a wide range of hills and coastal walks

Water Sports Boat Trips

Beachcroft Cottage is an ideal base for water sports enthusiasts. Across the islands there are wonderful spots to enjoy the watersport of your choice whether it’s wild swimming, kayaking, surfing or paddle boarding.  While the waters around the islands are beautiful, they can be treacherous and those entering the water should be sure they have all the information and equipment that will allow them to enjoy their sport of choice in safety.
